Margaret’s Room

This room was our kitchen when I was a child.  When Mom’s sister, Margaret, had open-heart surgery, Mom converted the kitchen into a second downstairs bedroom for Marge’s recovery.  Instead, when Marge left the hospital, she announced, “I’m not living with you,” and went to her own home half a block south on Houston Street.  Ironically, MARGARET RAMSAY never spent a night in this room!
